What are biometrics?

Biometrics is a form of security that is centered on verifying a person’s identity based on physiological characteristics that are unique to that person. Examples of this include unlocking your mobile phone via Touch ID or Face ID.

Can I use biometrics with the Azlo app? 

Yes, you can use biometrics with the Azlo app to log into your account as long as your device runs a supported operating system. When biometrics are enabled, depending on your device’s settings, this will allow you to access your account without requiring a six-digit verification code.

How do I allow biometrics for the Azlo app?

For Touch ID-enabled Apple devices:

  1. Download the iOS app
  2. Open the app
  3. Accept desired notification settings (note: this does not affect biometric use)
  4. Log in with your email and password
  5. When you are asked to allow biometrics to log in, tap OK
  6. Confirm Touch ID for Azlo with your fingerprint

For Face ID-enabled Apple devices:

  1. Download the iOS app
  2. Open the app
  3. Accept desired notification settings (note: this does not affect biometric use)
  4. Log in with your email and password
  5. When you are asked to allow biometrics to log in, tap OK
  6. Confirm Face ID for Azlo with your face

What version of iOS do I need to use biometrics?

The iOS Azlo app supports iOS 10.0 or later and is compatible with iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch. Depending on your device, biometric settings need to be enabled from your device settings for the feature to function in the Azlo app. Also, note that the Touch ID and Face ID features are not available for all iOS devices.

Why won't my Azlo app prompt for biometrics?

Biometrics won't work as expected after you change your password. You may receive an error message that says, “We’ve noticed your username or password has changed. Please update your credentials to re-enable biometrics.” If you do, try deleting and reinstalling the Azlo app.

For iOS devices with Face ID, biometrics can be turned on and off for each individual app. Check your phone settings to see if biometrics is enabled for the Azlo app. Follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to “Settings” on your device
  2. Select “Face ID & Passcode”
  3. Enter your passcode
  4. Select “Other Apps”
  5. In the apps that are listed, be sure that the toggle next to Azlo is on and green
